Sustainable strategy
Building and nurturing a close , mutually beneficial relationship with its farmers , Dovecote Park exclusively sources cattle from specially selected British farms , many of which have been suppliers to the company since its early days . Maintaining these strong relationships with farmers is a key priority for the company . On a regular basis , some farmers visit the Dovecote Park site for agricultural conferences , factory tours , and the annual Carcase Competition . The company also organizes frequent farm open days for its producers to share best practices , socialize with one another , and engage with the Dovecote Park team .
All farmer suppliers are registered members of the Dovecote Park / Waitrose Beef Producer Group , which guarantees their commitment to raising livestock to the highest possible standards to ensure top-quality meat products . Additionally , the organization will only accept cattle aged under 30 months that have spent a minimum of 90 days on a Dovecote Park registered , Farm-Assured farm as a way to ensure complete traceability throughout the supply chain . During the procurement process , Dovecote Park ’ s fields team visit the farms in person , thereby strengthening day-to-day relationships with producers , whilst auditors regularly monitor the farms to ensure its standards and protocol are strictly adhered to . Furthermore , the company ’ s dedicated livestock team carries out extensive work in research and development , collaborating with business partners and universities to conduct studies on topics such as genetics , feed analysis , and environmental impact .
In fact , operating sustainably stands as one of Dovecote Park ’ s foremost objectives , in alignment with its commitment to achieving Net Zero status by 2035 as per the 1.5-degree Science-Based Targets Initiative ( SBTI ). The company ’ s carbon reduction ambitions are in line with the Intergovernmental Panel
