establish the average carbon footprint for beef , this project seeks to offer more detailed insights for every producer in the Dovecote Park supply chain . This marks the first instance where a beef processor is planning to collect farm emissions and carbon sequestration data from its entire supplier network . In August 2021 , Dovecote Park began collecting carbon footprints utilizing SRUC ’ s Agrecalc Carbon Calculator . The initial objective for the first year was to acquire carbon footprint data from 150

This process will then be repeated every three years to monitor changes . Following the assessment of each farm ’ s carbon footprint , an individual action plan will be produced based on the results found . A series of webinars and farm events have been designed to demonstrate best practice and drive change to meet carbon objectives on the farm , an initiative that will continue throughout the program .
