Ripe for the picking: Bacchus Reserve Wine from Plumpton Estate

The Wine Division at Plumpton College produces the only still and sparkling wines made by wine specialist academics in the UK. Its Bacchus Reserve is crafted exclusively from hand-picked grapes grown in sandstone and clay soils in its very own vineyard. It is one of the first few white varieties to ripen. The Bacchus Reserve is also the first wine created with a new advanced winemaking technique, Vinalchemy, developed by Michael Pritchard MBE. The technique aims to lengthen the finish of the wine, keeping it fresher for longer. This delightfully light wine has notes of dried apricots, honeysuckle and melon, followed by a herbal touch of lime and fennel. Pour yourself a glass to enjoy fireside. If you close your eyes, it will feel like the sun on your face.
