The history of BHL is a great British success story. In 1973, the late Lord Noon MBE, who had previously worked in several major food manufacturing facilities, opened the first BHL outlet on the streets of Southall in West London. The company originally operated from two sites in Southall, but these were consolidated in 2017, and a brand-new factory was purpose-built to produce onion puree. Today, five decades after its inception, BHL has grown organically into a respected and innovative leader in the UK’ s food industry, remaining true to Lord Noon’ s original vision of authenticity and respect for people.
Currently, BHL operates through three distinct divisions, each unified by its passion for good quality, authentic food. Firstly, BHL has a division dedicated to the production of Indian sweets, desserts, and savory items under the Royal brand. Its second division focuses on specialist food production, and the wholesale supply of ingredients and preprepared products. Lastly, BHL’ s Noon Air Kitchen brand offers catering and meals for the airline industry. them as true partners, BHL supports suppliers with promotions and collaborations designed to enhance both sales and brand visibility with retail and independent customers.
This approach also extends to its employees. The company started with just a handful of employees but has grown substantially over the years, now employing second and third generations from the same families who were part of BHL’ s early foundations. Driven by the philosophy that well-treated employees look after the business in the long-term, BHL promotes a culture of trust and commitment, which has been instrumental in ensuring high product standards and excellent customer service.
