NACS Show 2026 Preview
Customer connections
Technology will also take center stage,
with a focus on solutions that address real business challenges and enhance the customer experience. While artificial intelligence remains a major talking point, the conversation is shifting from simply reducing costs to using technology to improve operations, strengthen engagement and create greater value for customers.
“ For suppliers and manufacturers exhibiting at the show, the most important thing to do is to ask questions and listen,” Jeff advises.“ It’ s always tempting to go into specifics about what you offer because you’ re naturally excited about it. But there is a big difference between talking about the features as opposed to the benefits. The latter focuses on the customer’ s needs and may serve you best in the long term.
“ Second, follow up after the NACS Show with everyone you met and talked to. Not every lead results in an immediate sale. Let the NACS Show be the start of a conversation that can continue.”
Looking ahead, one of the biggest shifts shaping convenience retail will be the growing opportunity for direct customer connections. While traditional
marketing channels remain valuable, retailers now have more ways to engage customers through apps, social media and in-store interactions. As digital tools continue to evolve, the ability to combine technology with genuine human connection will be a key differentiator, helping retailers build stronger relationships and deliver more personalized experiences.
Asked what he hopes attendees will take away from this year’ s NACS Show, Jeff highlights one key outcome: enthusiasm.“ It’ s always great to see and hear how excited attendees are when they leave the NACS Show each evening throughout the four days. The real opportunity is taking that enthusiasm back to the business and sharing the ideas, inspiration and possibilities with the wider team who weren’ t there. The goal is for attendees to return energized and ready to turn new insights into action.” ■
