The company started in 1997 as an electrical contractor serving the food and beverage sector. Since then, Intelect has grown into a multi-discipline engineering business, delivering integrated electrical, mechanical, controls, and automation solutions across the UK and beyond.
Today, Intelect works with clients in the food and beverage, utilities, renewable energy, and heavy industries. The company’ s success comes from a blend of technical expertise, investment in people and equipment, and a strong track record of delivering projects safely, on time, and on budget. As Intelect approaches its 30th anniversary, we sat down with Co-Founder and Managing Director Fran Cormican to reflect on the company’ s journey and explore the key factors behind its continued growth.
“ Engineering projects keep getting more complex, and technology never stands still. When clients hire separate contractors for every discipline, coordination gets tricky, and responsibility and communication can become fragmented,” Fran shares, explaining Intelect’ s vertically integrated approach.“ Our model takes away much of that complexity by offering a single point of accountability across design, manufacture, installation, commissioning, and maintenance. Because our teams collaborate from the very beginning, communication stays strong, decisions happen quickly, and we solve issues before they turn into problems. That means better quality, less risk, and ultimately more value for our clients.
