Powering Candy Kittens’ Growth: A decade of scalable partnership and integrated innovation

For over a decade, Universal Flexible Packaging( UFP) has worked alongside Candy Kittens as a trusted supply chain partner, supporting their growth from early production runs to one of the leading names in British confectionery. What began as modest volumes has developed into a long-term collaboration built on consistency, communication and shared ambition.
As demand accelerated, investment in infrastructure became critical. UFP installed a fully automated bespoke line equipped with multihead weighing technology capable of running up to 100 bags per minute. Current production runs operate at around 60 bags per minute across more than 20 lines on site, with capacity deliberately structured to support continued expansion. This forward-planned approach ensures Candy Kittens has the headroom required as retail demand scales, not just for today’ s demand but for tomorrow’ s opportunity, without compromising product quality, presentation or reliability.
UFP’ s strength lies in true end-to-end integration. From technical packaging development and flexible film supply through to print, co-pack, finished goods storage and distribution, the entire process is managed across 90,000 square feet of operational space over two Leicester sites. Supported by a team of 150 employees, this integrated model reduces operational friction, shortens lead times and gives growing brands the clarity and control required to expand confidently.
Cultural cycles are compressing and product trends are turning over faster than ever. Brands no longer have the luxury of slow operational response. UFP operates as an agile contract packager and manufacturer, structured to support ambitious brands throughout their entire scale-up journey.
“ Scaling a challenger brand requires more than machinery,” says Tinku Durrani, CEO of UFP.“ It requires alignment, foresight and an operational framework built for growth. Our role is to remove complexity so brands can focus on building market momentum.”
Operating to BRCGS AA + standards and continuing to invest in recyclable packaging innovation, UFP combines technical expertise with commercial discipline. The journey from start-up to market leader demands infrastructure as strong as the product proposition itself. From concept to shelf, UFP provides the integrated foundation that ambitious brands rely on to scale with confidence.
The Sunningdale warehouse facility opened in January 2026 and features a 12-metre eaves height, capacity for 3,500 pallet allocations, and a renewable solar energy system that underpins its green, futurefocused design.
The Lunsford Road site serves as UFP’ s head office, housing its central leadership, commercial, technical and operational teams, and acting as the hub for strategic planning and day-to-day coordination across the wider group.
