while the world around us was fluid and had become even more fast-paced. My vision has always been to create a more curious, commercially driven organization that is willing to challenge itself continuously.” Kaisa’ s proximity to customers shapes that approach.“ I believe strategy becomes real at the customer interface,” she adds, noting that being customer-centric does not mean accepting every request but rather understanding where the business can create value profitably and sustainably. Earlier in 2026, Satotukku came under the ownership by Dole Nordic, an agricultural multinational corporation.“ We are combining Satotukku’ s deep knowledge of the Finnish market and the customer relationships we have built over the years with the scale, sourcing network, and expertise of the world’ s largest fresh produce company,” Kaisa highlights.“ This
certainly does not dilute what makes us successful; it only strengthens it.” Internally, the company is reviewing roles, capabilities, and ways of working, with a focus on commercial skills, people development, and data-driven decisionmaking.“ I don’ t believe change should simply be about moving boxes on an organization chart,” Kaisa tells us.“ We have a lot to prove, and I like that. We are hungry for the moment.”
Throughout Satotukku’ s partnerships with both suppliers and customers, it balances widespread volumes with working relationships, and the philosophy that“ strong partnerships create value”– with reliability and transparency expected in both directions.“ Availability and origins are continually assessed, because even just the weather makes complacency impossible,” Kaisa elaborates.
Granlids’ grading line Carl Koivisto, CEO
For four generations – since 1943 – Granlids has been an independent innovator in the Finnish apple-industry. The collaboration with Satotukku as a reseller of our fruit, began in the late 1990s.
At this time Granlids introduced modern apple-varieties to Finland. ULO-storages followed in the early 2000s. Together with trusted partners like Satotukku, we continue our effort to be a first mover in the Finnish market-space.
Thus, a brand-new grading-line was installed in the spring of 2025. With a focus on improved automation inside our facilities and the use of artificial intelligence for quality grading, this investment further strengthens our goal to remain a key producer of premium domestic apples.
